Singles travel to Greece to find their destiny

The local authorities of some Northern Greece regions have proposed a very unusual idea. They addressed the authorities of the neighboring Bulgarian district with an offer to open a special singles travel route to Greece for young single Bulgarian women. The fact is that the birth rate in the region has recently experienced a sharp downfall.

Many Greek men refuse for some reason to create families with the women from their home country, claiming that Slav ladies are much more pretty and agreeable. Each to his own, but if the course of events does not change, in several years quite a few regions of Northern Greece might be threatened by a demographical catastrophe.

Because of this, the Greek side offered to create very favorable conditions for the Bulgarian ladies getting married to Greeks. Within the proposed framework, the young families would get a new house or at least some money for its construction. A flexible system of bank loans for buying cars and home appliances is also included into the plan. As for the children born into such families, they would be provided by everything they need by the local authorities until they reach three years of age.

Such singles travel routes (by bus) are expected to be a joint venture with the marriage and tourist agencies. The prices for such tours would be very moderate - the majority of the expenses is going to be taken over by the Greek side. Sceptics assert that this well-intended plan is going to fall through. They say the business could easily fall into the hands of mafia clans both in Bulgaria and in Greece. As a result, the romantic "marriage tours" could turn into a nearly legal channel of supplying Greece with Bulgarian prostitutes.

All the same, the Bulgarian girls themselves had already expressed their approval of those singles travel tours. The more so as qualified tourist guides along with the police are going to accompany potential brides. The former guarantee a good excursion program, while the latter are going to take care of the security of such tours.

There is no knowing as yet to how the meetings of the prospective couples are going to take place. The Bulgarian women and the Greek men are supposed to meet in high-class clubs. The initiators of the program swear that everything is going to be well-organized and devoid of any criminal problems.

The Greek side also maintains that in case this project turns out to be effective, the local authorities will likely consider the possibility of organizing such tours for single Russian and Ukrainian women. Slav ladies are indeed very popular in Greece.
