The Indian mythology has given such chastity the goddess named Shri, or Lakshmi, who was considered as the patroness of fertility and prosperity. She was named as "given birth by a lotus", "standing on a lotus", and "painted by a lotus". There is one of the temple medallions in India where this goddess is represented standing on a lotus. She crosses the ocean and leaves and flowers surround her.
