Telling lies is generally accepted to be something improper. It must be sinful to tell a lie to others. There are some rigid people who always follow their tough principles and refuse to change their minds about telling the truth all the time however unpleasant it can be. They blame others for telling lies. Maybe it is right but on the other hand, why only the minority of people belongs to "honest ones"? Maybe it is not so clever to be inflexible and obstinate? In this context telling the truth does not seem to be the most appropriate dating advice.
Considering the pros and cons of telling lies we can't help remembering a lot of situations when it was a lie that helped people to avoid troubles and sometimes even not to break their love relationships. To some extent, everything depends on the purpose of a lie. Actually, we can keep the truth from others not to hurt them but very often we look only after our own interests. In general, we sometimes lie in such a skillful way that nobody can suspect us of being dishonest. Moreover, we seem to have got used to telling varied lies very often without even realizing it. Even pupils cheat their teachers at school in order not to be blamed for laziness, let alone the grown-ups.
Nevertheless we mustn't forget that a lie can offend people and drive them to refuse to trust us any more. The word combination "white lie" does not apply to this case. But what should one do if one had been unfaithful to their partner? Should he or she reveal the whole truth or should they lie to each other?
In such a way we can come to a conclusion that there isn't any universal dating advice that will be the only suitable dating advice for each situation; everything depends on the circumstances and on the relationship between people.
